Research School in Geometry at Cuernavaca

June 16 to June 27, 2025

The Cuernavaca Unit of the Institute of Mathematics, UNAM, is pleased to invite master's students and final-year undergraduate mathematics students to participate in the "Research School in Geometry at Cuernavaca".

This will be a two-week event, held from June 16 to June 27 at our facilities.

The school will consist of two courses each week and a series of lectures given by renowned experts in the field. There will also be practical workshops and discussion sessions. The goal of the school is to introduce participants to active research topics.

Five participants from Latin America or the Caribbean, who are neither Mexican nor residents of Mexico, will be selected to benefit from a living stipend for up to 12 months. This stipend will allow them to stay in Cuernavaca while preparing for and gaining admission to the UNAM Postgraduate Program in Mathematics (master's or Ph.D.) in Cuernavaca, as well as to process their immigration documents and obtain the necessary funding to complete their studies.

For participants from Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean, there will be a limited number of scholarships available for food and lodging. There will also be a few travel grants for participants from outside Mexico.

The deadline to register and apply for financial support is March 20, 2025.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact: school.postgrad@im.unam.mx

The main financial support for the school and scholarships is provided by the Simons Foundation and the Institute of Mathematics at UNAM.
