Some perspectives on determinantal discriminants

Resumen:

Determinantal singularities come with a natural notion of equivalence of deformations and, if the singularity is "essentially isolated", a miniversal unfolding. The parameter space of this unfolding contains the discriminant which consists of the parameters with "singular fibers" in a sense to be made precise. We will explore such discriminants and discuss their potential relations with resolutions in family and maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules.
