Stiefel-Whitney classes

Resumen:

In the first session we have recalled the definition of singular (co)homology.

During this talk, the axioms of Stiefel-Whitney classes will be presented together with some direct consequences. Next we compute these classes for some basic examples.

Remark: the goal of this "seminar" is to introduce the audience to the theory of characteristics classes (mainly following the book of Milnor and Stasheff). Every student is welcomed.
