Resumen:
In the talk, we reveal the intrinsic connection between the complex geodesics in Teichmuller spaces of Riemann surfaces and variational calculus for univalent functions with quasiconformal extension. The geodesic features cause some phenomena contrasting the classical variational theory for univalent functions, and, on the other hand, imply explicitly complete solutions to many variational problems.
