Resumen:

 there is a division algorithm of power series analogous The division algorithm for polynomials. One particular case is the Weierstrass division theorem and the general case is due to Grauert and Hironaka. In the case of convergent power series the remainder and the quotient are also convergent power series. But the remainder of the division of an algebraic power series by another algebraic power series need not be algebraic any more in general. I will review the problem and explain what is this division algorithm.Then I will give some positive result in the case of algebraic power series.
