Resumen:

Local polar varieties are certain varieties one can associate to germs of singular complex analytic germs and maps. Simple invariants of their geometry can be used to produce useful invariants of the space or map germ. The course will provide an introduction to these techniques and examples of applications in theclassification of singularities.

The prerequisites are a basic knowledge of local analytic geometry an commutative algebra.
